Contractors And Students Benefit From Internships
Many Bay Area SMACNA (BAS) contractors continue to hire professional or trades interns to get a jump on securing top talent, assist with peak demand and give them an opportunity to evaluate candidates’ cultural fit and aptitude within their organization.
In partnership with Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 104 District 1, BAS is pleased to have another MOU agreement for a 2024 internship program for eligible field or shop student candidates. Interns in these positions must register with the BAS office. Interns in these positions must:
- Be paid a minimum of $22 per hour
- Be assigned work between April 29 - September 27, 2024
- Attend an Intern Training Day with BAS
Last year’s Intern Training Day was hosted at the new Livermore Joint Apprenticeship Training Center and included an overview of our industry, with contractor and labor speakers and a tour of the facility. Look for more information on this year’s Intern Training Day to be sent out soon.
