Annual Convention Brings Members Back Together

The 2021 SMACNA 77th Annual Convention brought 100 of our Bay Area SMACNA members and their families to Maui, Hawaii, for a few days of learning, networking and celebrating being back together in person.
Bay Area SMACNA Board member Angie Simon completed her extended term as SMACNA National President and “passed the gavel” on to new President Al LaBella. The convention featured many valuable industry educational sessions, including how to foster a sense of purpose in the workplace and how to increase outreach and awareness for the construction industry. Inspirational speakers such as SMART President Joe Sellers had a message to everyone that even our smallest actions and decisions impact our communities and the world around us.
This year, Bay Area SMACNA in partnership with the Western Washington, Oregon and Inland Northeast SMACNA Chapters hosted a West Coast Chapter Night on the oceanfront lawn at the Four Seasons. It was a beautiful evening full of mingling, Hawaiian music and Ho’okipa (Hawaiian hospitality). Recognition was given to Angie Simon for her time and service as SMACNA President.
