Congrats to Mitch Hoppe: 2022-2023 CAL SMACNA President
Join us in congratulating Mitch Hoppe, president of Melrose Metal Products, on becoming the 2022-2023 president of CAL SMACNA!
Mitch began his career at Melrose 45 years ago under the leadership of his father. During that time, the company became an industry leader in early technology adoption, with Mitch becoming a self-taught programmer who helped develop software to cut sheet metal fittings, ductwork and more. In 1999, Mitch took over as CEO of Melrose.
As president, Mitch’s priorities throughout his term include continuing to promote indoor air quality and efficiency, and advocating for career technical education in schools — particularly through the use of the Choose Bigger California platform. “We want to make sure CAL SMACNA stays relevant and at the forefront of the issues that challenge our industry,” he said. “We’ve got some of the best, brightest and talented professionals in the industry, and we’re always looking for ways to create opportunities for our members and promote their high level of expertise.”
When he’s not working, you can find Mitch boating, camping and enjoying golf with his wife, Yvonne.
